J Events: 3 Upcoming CT Shows for $45 or Less!

Day 26_Toad's PlaceIn light of the news about Danity Kane this weekend (I’m too hurt to speak on it now), it will be interesting to see if the boys’ reunion tour holds a different fate. I am anticipating some type of foolery, but I’m hoping for the best. I will report back.

**UPDATE: I had a feeling things wouldn’t go according to plan… the Day 26 concert has been postponed to September 3 due to “personal circumstances.”

Other concerts that may be of interest…

Jesse McCartney Summer Fling

I was slightly embarrassed to post this concert, but now I have a legitimate reason: it turns out one of the opening acts “The Heydaze,” features three Penn undergrads! I may have to go just to support musicians from my alma mater. Tickets are $35.

Drake-vs.-lil-wayne-tour

Drake and Lil’ Wayne will be performing in Hartford on Wednesday at the XFINITY Theatre. I went back and forth for months, but after seeing Drake on Saturday Night Live and the ESPYS, I can say with certainty I regret not attending the Would You Like a Tour? tri-state concerts; though I have never been a Lil’ Wayne fan, I don’t want to pass up the chance again.  Single tickets for lawn seat are $45, a 4-pack brings it down to $33.

J Music: The 20/20 Experience Tour (Hartford, CT)

What you didn’t get with the Legends of the Summer Tour, you get 10x over with the 20/20 Experience Tour. As far as overall production — full-band, choreography, spectacular visual element, set list and design, ebb and flow — only show that almost touches Beyonce’s I Am… Tour (the best show I’ve ever been to two snaps). The show didn’t end until almost 12 a.m. in Hartford (on a weeknight) — the arena was still at capacity, with fans on their feet, until the end.

J Thoughts: Oh, the Places I’ll Go!

I have taken a bit of a summer hiatus from my blog, but I miss it so much! My blog keeps me active and inspired as I experience and learn new things and look to share them.

I think we all find in the summer, however, that if anything there is too much to see and do as it is a great time to travel and spend time with family and friends. Halfway through what has been a busy summer, I wanted to share some of my favorite memories.

Miami, Florida

Miami beach was everything I needed. Clean, not too crowded and the water was the perfect temperature. No sea creatures spotted in sight.

Charleston, South Carolina

In town for my family reunion, I am glad we took the time to do a carriage tour in downtown Charleston. You get a brief history lesson while viewing gorgeous million-dollar estates.

Hartford, Connecticut

It’s always good to take advantage of the things to do in your home state. Had a great time at a Rock Cats game this weekend. (The Rock Cats are the Double-A minor league baseball affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.)

All my traveling have inspired a new goal — visit all 50 states!
