Jazmine Sullivan, ladies and gentleman. So glad to have her back in the spotlight. That timbre. Read the full story of how the video came to be in a New Orleans barber shop here.

J Music: “We Get By”- Jojo

Not my favorite track from Jojo, but it is great to hear something new from her.  This is the single she released this week that will be featured on her upcoming mixtape entitled, Agápe (Greek word meaning “Spiritual Love”).

Fresh off announcing her new mixtape Agápē, JoJo debuts the first single “We Get By.” The 21-year-old singer vibes out on the funky jam, which she recorded with a group of her friends known as The Backpackkids (Austin Brown, Scott Bruzenak, and Tommy Parker), who all got together to create what they call “genre-less music.”

“We get by, we get high ’cause tomorrow’s goodbye,” sings JoJo, who remainsoptimistic in spite of the obstacles she faces. “I know it will be OK. I believe in myself.”

Agápē, described as a “labor of love from the heart without limits or boundaries,” is set for release on December 20. (Rap-Up)

J Reads: JoJo Readies Grown-Up New Album

Singer JoJo is getting back into the swing of making music. The 20-year-old, who made her name as a fresh-faced teenager back in 2004, recently dropped ‘Disaster,’ the first single off her forthcoming third album, ‘Jumping Trains.’

Showcasing a more grown-up side that fans may not be used to, JoJo sought to tackle the perils of a disastrous relationship.

“‘Disaster’ is basically about how sometimes you get so deep into a relationship, and it gets progressively horrifying and real disastrous,” she tells AOL Music. “Whether it be emotional abuse or another type of abuse, it’s like, ‘How did I end up in this storm?’ So it’s an emotional record, but it’s definitely resilient in the end.”
